Cake baking with Nancy Sullivan

Watch as Nancy mixes,  bakes and ices her 2 most popular cakes-  Red Velvet and Italian Cream.   She’ll share her tips and tricks for achieving a beautiful four layer cake including how to avoid the center hump, evenly split a layer, create a flawless icing finish, and easy decorating and trim.  Everyone will have an opportunity to decorate cupcakes with a pastry bag and different tips, and of course, we’ll sample the results and take home leftovers.  Recipes for the cakes and Nancy’s Cream Cheese Icing are included.

Don't miss this fun acrylic painting workshop!  Casa de Arte, located in Carmine, will sponsor a fun and educational day of painting with Ken Muenzenmayer. 

Saturday, September 18th, 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Discover the method of creating glowing images

. 

Learn the Muenzenmayer method of painting with acrylics in this enjoyable and informative class which employs techniques of acrylic painting while focusing on the inquisitive nature of cows by the roadside.  Muenzenmayer is known for his painterly approach in his depiction of cows which allows room for levity in an earnest approach to painting.  This class teaches how to simplify forms and composition using strong color and light.  Ken has learned many "secrets" which he shares with his students.  His unique style offers students a path upon which they can make their own individual statement

Paint this painting in one workshop!

Students will need to bring the brushes, palettes, paper towels and favorite paint colors.

You will be using old, discarded books, handmade papers, vintage fabrics, new papers for the inside pages and baubles and beads of you wish to embellish further!
